Our Staff

We know that Carillon Sports and Family Medicine is only as effective and welcoming as the people who work in it, which is why we take pride in our friendly, well-trained staff members! As a team, we are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient, comprehensive treatment in a supportive, nurturing environment. We promise to speak candidly with you about possible treatments as well as any risks and associated costs of treatment, and how treatment can address your individual needs as a patient.

Our team is highly skilled, uniquely trained and aims to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient! Our staff members have specialized training, multiple certifications and years of experience treating patients with the highest level of care. We stay current with the latest in techniques and technology by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.

Our staff includes:

Matthew Vermeer, MD

Dr. Vermeer graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences.  He completed his Doctor of Medicine at St. George's University School of Medicine in the West Indies and his Family Medicine Residency at the USF/Morton Plant Mease Family Practice program.  He then completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at USF/Morton Plant Mease and joined Carillon Sports and Family Medicine in July 2017.  Dr. Vermeer is actively involved with medical coverage fro local community teams and is an avid soccer fan.

Robert Wuttke – Therapeutic and Imaging Services Manager

Robert is a licensed massage therapist and certified personal trainer specializing in corrective exercises, therapeutic rehabilitation and strength and conditioning.  He has been a licensed massage therapist since 2000 and has worked in therapeutic rehabilitation for more than 20 years.

Maureen Figley – Licensed Massage Therapist

Mo is a licensed massage therapist and personal trainer.  She completed her Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Health Services Administration at St. Petersburg College and her Licensed Massage Therapy program at Cortiva Institute.  Her practice focuses on correct exercises, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy and muscle energy techniques.

Nicole has a Master's degree in Public Administration and serves as our Practice Administrator.
